AIR-OIL BOOSTERS

High pressure air-hydraulic pumps

Main technical features:

  • BELL hydraulic pumps, thanks to a compact design, are small, handy and portable (weight from 5 to 10 Kg. depending on the type - with the standard tank).

  • Tank capacities of 1,4 - 2,4 - 5 and 7 litres depending on the versions and types.

  • Customizable on request.

  • The output oil pressures can vary on the size of the diametre of the piston and the input air pressure: from 0,8 to over 2,7 L/min of maximum oil flow to reach up to  700 bar of oil pressure.

  • Each HP and UP unit is endowed of an internal and replaceable air filter  and of a maximum pressure valve  (internal on all UP types and external -locked on the HP) to protect all the hydraulic components.

Main applications:

The air-hydraulic BELL units are meant to operate single and double acting cylinders depending on the versions. This type of pump can be applied in all the hydraulic applications, especially in those which require high performances and pressures, and in all cases in which the oil flow must be modulated and controlled.

There are many applications, in the industiial field, such as stirrup, presses,  extractors, pullers, hose fitting, bead breakers, clamping equipments, as well as in the automotive field for example car and motorbike lifts, pulling bars for bodyworks straightening benches.

All BELL units can be used in environments with a high risk of fire and/or explosions as the air compressed is compatible and suitable in any situation.

HP SERIES

Available HP types:
HP - Azionamento a pedale

HP

HP RC - Azionamento pneumatico

HP RC

HP AP

HP AP

HP con comando pneumatico a distanza
HP RC COM DIST

HP LEVER

The air-hydraulic BELL pumps in the HP version are meant to work with hydraulic oil or glycols to operate single acting cylinder with spring return. They can be also suitable for double-acting cylinders by implementing a 4 way valve between the pump and the cylinder with a manual control (optional).

The HP RC (Remote Control) type is particular indicated to operate the pump from a distance through a pneumatic control.

All the HP pumps are equipped with a swivelling oil port connection (3/8" - 18 NPTF standard), and they work through the normal pneumatic circuit 5/8 bar. They are also equipped with an internal air filter (replaceable).

The release valve is integrated in the pump and operated through the pedal by pressing the "RELEASE" position. This valve, whilst allowing a quick return of oil, is hydraulically damped to avoid any shock in the system.

Oil flows / Pressures

The hydraulic pressure of the unit depends on the reduction ratio, on the setup of the max pressure valve and on the setup of the air compressed in input. It increases or decreases proportionally to the air compressed flow.

The diagrams show the relation between the oil flow and the air pressure:

UP SERIES

Available UP types:

UPF

UPC - con flangia Cetop 3

UPC

UPM - valvola manuale 3 posizioni 4 vie per cilindri a doppio effetto

UPM

UPL - con manometro di serie

UPL

UPR - con comando pneumatico a distanza

UPR

The air-hydraulic BELL pumps in the UP version mean higher performance and efficiency with higher oil flows and bigger oil capacities (2,4 - 5 e 7 litres).

They were designed for working even at a continous output pressure of 700 bar (heavy duty construction). They are meant to work with hydraulic oil and glycols to operate single and/or double-acting cylinders depending on the type.

With the UPC type it is possible to operate the unit from a distance through the use of CETOP valves with electric or pneumatic control (optional).

All the UP pumps by BELL can be conntected to the normal pneumatic circuit and are all equipped with a replaceable internal air filter. The working pressure range is approximately 2,8-10bar.

In the UPF type the release valve is incorporated in the unit and operated through the pedal. This valve, whilst allowing a quick return of oil, is hydraulically damped to avoid any shock in the system.

he oil pressure attained is not affected by any drop in pressure in the air line or even the air line being disconnected.

Being real power units, the UP pumps by BELL have replaced the electric power units in many fields of application.

Further advantages:

  • Air filter incorporated and oil output filter to protect the motor from dirt.

  • Tap on the tank for the release of in-line valves.

  • Oil level indicator to improve the maintenance

  • All UP types can work horizontally and/or vertically

  • Low energetic costs.

Oil flow

The hydraulic pressure of the unit depends on the reduction ratio, on the setup of the max pressure valve and on the setup of the air compressed in input. It increases or decreases proportionally to the air compressed flow.

The diagrams show the relation between the oil flow and the air pressure:

Air compressed:

The air-oil intensifier can work at a minimum air pressure of 2,8 bar up to a suggested max air pressure of 10 bar.

The minimum requested air flow is  340 Nl/min.

There's no need of lubricated air, however we suggest to implement a filter to avoid condensate.

The following diagrams show the air consumption at certain oil pressure and oil flow:

Stand-by/Restart mode:

BELL UP air-hydraulic units can work at a constant hydraulic pressure by adjusting the air input.

To obtain this, it is required to adjust the air pressure so that the pump stops working at the desired pressure value (the setup of the internal max valve must be higher than such value to avoid to start). Whenever the oil pressure drops, the unit re-start automatically to restore the desired output value.

The following Stand-by/Restart diagrams show the pressure values to the related conditions. It is always suitable to check several times the settings by restarting the unit. A small pressure drop during the work in such conditions is considered normal:
